Samer Hobeika: Clear Skies near Montreal, Astrophotography exhibition

The Groupe Photo de l’Anticafé is presenting « Clear Skies near Montreal », an astrophotography project presented by photographer Samer Hobeika.

Biography

Quebeckers of Lebanese origin, Samer is a computer engineer during the day and he photographs the sky at night. He discovered the art of photography in 2013, as he made his first captures of the Milky Way. Since then, he has honed his skills and produced sumptuous images of our Montreal sky. He is the creator of “Montreal Astrophotography Party,” a group of amateur photographers sharing his passion and the founder of Zenderfull  Group.


Arts Project: a clear sky

Samer has made night photography his specialty. He presents here his artistic vision through the taking of many skies of the Montreal area. The immensity, the stars, the Milky Way, the Shooting Stars, the moon, constellations like Orion and many other phenomena surprise the viewer and bring him into a world of magnificence.

Samer’s photos generally consist of stars as a background, a foreground and a subject, all forming impressive paintings. The addition of landscapes, the identification of constellations, stars and moon are all elements conducive to the appearance of a landscape, sometimes an human form help create a mythic world. Samer uses modern and sophisticated devices that allow him to obtain long exposures for the production of his pictures.

 

The Event

The exhibition will be presented at the Anticafé, located at 294 Saint-Catherine St West, Montreal, QC H2X 2A1 (intersection de Bleury, Métro Place des Arts) from December 15 to 21, 2017

The Preview event will take place on December 14, starting at 20:00. Samer will be happy to meet with you at this occasion and the Groupe Photo de l’Anticafé Team will be there to make it a fun event.
