Expression of beauty

The original Greek Canon defined beauty by achieving balance and symmetry. Sculptures all the way to Neo-Classism era in the Western World were based on these proportions and mathematical concepts, insuring the reproducibility of beauty. In photography, the distortions imposed by the lenses cannot guaranty any symmetrical measurements matching the norms defined in the Canon. Fortunately for photographers, the Greek philosophers also defined beauty in the form of harmony between opposing forces. In an image expressing beauty, the equilibrium between two opposing entities is reached when both are neutralized.

With this model, Sunshy, harmony is reached in many ways: polarity between strength and fragility, between force and weakness, between violence and softness, between aggression and peacefulness. All these continuums deliver a rendition of beauty in photography.
